TIRANA, Nov 26 /ATA/ – Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro on Wednesday visited the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) in France, where she was received by the University President prof Claire Rossi.

The two discussed expanded cooperation under bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening academic and technological links.

Kumbaro praised the strategic partnership between UTC and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, which has recently introduced dual-degree Bachelor programmes in Computer and Electronic Engineering, alongside existing Master programmes, offering what she described as European-standard education for Albanian and international students.

She said cooperation with UTC, one of France’s leading engineering institutions, is helping build Albania’s innovation ecosystem, including the newly launched Franco-Albanian High School of Science and Innovation in Korçë.

“Thanks to the agreement between the two governments and the joint work of our institutions, Albania now hosts a shared campus with UTC, allowing students to pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, attend joint lectures by French and Albanian professors, benefit from academic mobility and earn dual degrees recognised in both countries,” Kumbaro said.

During her visit, the Education Minister also met Albanian students currently enrolled at UTC, who discussed their academic experience, research projects and prospects in domestic and international job markets.
