TIRANA, March  31 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated on Friday that the economic growth for 2022 was 4.84%.

“The growth was spread in all sectors of the economy, specifically construction  10.7%, trade 9.9%, agriculture 0.06% and industry 5.45%. The growth exceeded the forecasts of the MoFE, but also international institutions. MoFE and IMF predicted an increase of 3.7%, while the WB predicted an increase of 3.5% and EBRD, an increase of 3%,”the minister told a press conference on economic developments for 2022.

The minister emphasized that this increase is the highest in the region and significantly higher than in EU countries. According to her, the average growth in EU countries was 1.7%.

Ibrahimaj pointed out that the final consumption of the population increased by 7.13%, while investments by 7%.

“We have made good progress in real terms unaffected by prices, both for consumption and investments,” the minister said.

Minister Ibrahimaj said that the only sector that has progressed slowly in the fourth quarter of last year was agriculture, which was affected by the prices in the international and domestic markets.
