PRISTINA, April 25 /ATA/ – The European Commission spokesman Peter Stano said Tuesday the bloc’s institutions have taken note that Serbia voted against accepting Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe.

Stano said that the EU institutions were aware of Serbia’s vote against Kosovo’s bid to join the Council of Europe, but he declined to state whether EU considers Serbia’s decision as a violation of the Ohrid Agreement.

Asked by reports several times, the EC spokesman briefly stated that “the EU institutions are aware of what happened in the Council of Europe.”

Kosovo announced Monday that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe approved its membership request and forwarded it to PACE
