“This is a moment to reaffirm our cohesion and solidarity with our eastern allies,” Vengu wrote on social media following the meeting.

Vengu highlighted Albania’s ongoing contributions to regional and alliance security, citing the deployment of more than 500 troops in NATO and EU-led missions, increased investment in the domestic defense industry – including munitions, drones, artillery, and armored vehicles – as well as upgrades to critical infrastructure and strengthened civil defense capabilities.

“These efforts demonstrate that Albania is a builder of stability and security in the region,” he said.

Vengu added that Albania’s defense priorities go hand in hand with its aspirations for European Union membership.

“We are grateful to our Central European colleagues for their steadfast support in this direction,” Vengu said.
