In a press statement after the Socialist Party Assembly meeting in the northwestern Albanian city of Shkodra on Friday, Spiropali said “no discussions whatsoever have taken place about possible snap elections in the country.”

Asked about the potential failure of the electoral reform, the senior Socialist official said all issues will be addressed ahead of the next year’s parliamentary elections.

Commenting on the tense situation in parliament, Spiropali called on the main opposition Democratic Party to unite, saying “they cannot use parliament as a solution to their radical strategies.”
