TIRANA, Jan 31 /ATA/ – More than 95% of public services in Albania are already offered online, and the government is rapidly expanding digital solutions to streamline processes and improve accessibility, Prime Minister Edi Rama said in remarks at the launch ceremony of the first program by Plug and Play, one of the world’s leading startup accelerators, in Tirana on Friday afternoon.

The leading global innovation platform Plug and Play has selected Tirana to host its 51st centre in the world to bring together technology geeks from the Balkans.

Addressing the event, the government head underlined that Albania has established itself as a regional leader in e-governance.

“Today we hold the most advanced position in terms of the e-governance in the region and we also rank high on the Europe ranking, as Albania provides around 95% of the public services online. More than 45 million services have been delivered online, fully eliminating the risk of bribery and corruption practice,” PM Rama said.

PM Rama announced that a technological park, namely the Durana Tech Park, will open its doors to welcome start-ups and innovation companies in the next few weeks, while Vlora Tech Space will be launched in the coastal city soon, in collaboration with the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF).
