TIRANA, Oct 8 /ATA/ The growing number of cruises in the Adriatic, which for 2022 has recorded nearly 3.3 million passengers, projections for further development of cruise tourism, projects, programs and questions to achieve new and more ambitious results, were in the focus of the fifth edition of the Adriatic Sea Forum held in Bari, Italy.

The Port of Durres was represented by the administrator of the Albanian Seaports Development Agency, Erlis Hereni, who rolled out the vision of the Albanian Government for the structured development of maritime tourism, citing the transformation of the Durres Port into an elite tourist Marina as the biggest investment.

The new edition of the Adriatic Sea Forum comes at an important time for the cruise industry for which attraction of tourists is the main challenge.
Launched in 2013, now in its fifth edition, the forum was attended by cruise, ferry and maritime sector operators from seven countries, including the Italian coasts and those of Croatia, Bosnia, Greece, Albania, Slovenia and Montenegro.

The two-day meeting, which is dedicated exclusively to maritime tourism and its importance in the Adriatic area, is a unique opportunity for port authorities and serious operators in the maritime field, including professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers who during two days discussed the situation of post-Covid marine tourism. /j.p/sm/
