TIRANA, Aug 14 /ATA/ – Albania’s coastal city of Durrës continues to attract both domestic and international tourists this summer, Prime Minister Edi Rama said Thursday.

Posting on social media, Rama shared footage of crowded beaches, countering claims that tourism in the country has slowed.

“Thank you for this video! From the beaches of Durrës, unlike what some want to tell you, tourism is not stagnant,” the government head stated.

Durrës offers extensive sandy and rocky beaches, a range of hotel and agrotourism facilities, and a rich cultural heritage, including the Roman amphitheatre, Byzantine market square, Venetian tower, ancient Roman baths, and Skanderbeg fortifications at Cape Rodon.
