TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATADurana Tech Park, Albania’s first technological and scientific park, has launched as a center for the advancement of technology and science in the country, offering opportunities for startups and innovative companies.
As stated by Florenca Haxhi, the director of Durana Tech Park, the park is currently operating entirely virtually in its initial phase. Once the physical infrastructure is completed, it will shift to a hybrid model.

This operational model combines virtual and physical elements and has been designed to meet the park residents’ needs for specialized physical spaces.

Haxhi states that this approach is inspired by the best practices of international tech parks and ensures that the government’s investment in the park aligns with global trends in technology and innovation development.
“Initially, the park operates 100% virtually, and later, with the construction of the physical park, it will shift to a hybrid model. This operational approach is based on several existing models worldwide and ensures that the government’s investment in the park aligns fully with the demands and needs of the park’s residents for physical spaces,” stated Haxhi.

Durana Tech Park aims to become a key hub for supporting and developing the technology and innovation sectors in Albania, creating opportunities to enhance technological skills and foster a sustainable ecosystem for new businesses and startups.

This park operates under the law “On the creation, organization, and operation of technological and scientific parks” from 2022, along with the bylaws enacted in 2024-2025. /j.p/sm/
