“I’ve never met McGonigal. Everything circulating in the media comes in the wake of a slew of unsubstantiated accusations made against the institution that I lead. There was no reason for me to meet McGonigal, I didn’t even know him and by the way I heard his name after the publications in the Albanian media,” Dumani said in an interview with Report TV.

In a televised interview on Monday, the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that the Head of the Special Prosecution Against Organized Crime and Corruption, Altin Dumani, is a guardian of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s impunity and that Dumani started the investigation against him after meeting McGonigal.
