TIRANA, February 10/ATA/ Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Sokol Duma said that, “The draft law “On Mountain Package” aims to promote economic development in 100 villages, through attracting investments that will generate employment, improving living conditions for the residents of the area and protecting ecosystems”.

Present at the Assembly Committee on Productive Activities, Trade and Environment, during the review of the draft law, Duma noted that the mountain package aims to provide legal solutions to the specifics presented by the current situation with state-owned real estate in mountainous areas.

He also continued, it aims to transfer ownership of state-owned assets in these areas, possessed without title by private entities, in order to develop them.

According to him, the draft law defines a series of facilities for investors who will become part of this package.

“Thus, it foresees the declaration of mountain areas with development priorities; development of state assets possessed without title by private entities in these areas, in accordance with the rules and legislation for territorial planning and development; transfer of ownership through the sale of these state real estate assets for a symbolic fee of 1 euro. Meanwhile, the ownership certificate will be obtained only after the development project is completed, while the first 500 entities that will invest in the mountain economy will be exempt from tax for a period of 10 years, exempt from the infrastructure tax, real estate tax and VAT”, said Duma.

After the review, the Committee on Productive Activities, Trade and Environment approved the draft law “On the Mountains Package”. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, August 8 /ATA/- The elected MP of the Democratic Party in opposition Grida Duma stated today that the natural disaster have always brought to the limelight things like mismanagement, incompetence, abuse of office, corruption. All these things turn down the government’s deceitful propaganda, said Duma.

She added that, “Therefore, Albania is left with only one helicopter for extinguishing fires and another one used for Edi Rama’s travels”.

She argued that, “Corruption has spent the state finances has left citizens unprotected in front of the natural disasters, while civil emergency workers and army forces are forced to face the fire with makeshift means. The repeated frauds over the years and the propaganda paid by taxpayers’ money cannot hide either the failures or the damages that the corrupt model built by Edi Rama is causing to the country”, said Duma.

If this model is not punished, she said, Albania will suffer from crisis to crisis because of a minority that works only for itself, not for Albanians./p.s./

TIRANA, June 3 /ATA/ The elected MP of the Democratic Party in opposition Grida Duma stated today that the way PM Edi Rama extends his hand of cooperation is a diversion.

Asked in a television interview about Prime Minister Rama’s statement that the next president could be from the opposition, Duma said: “I rule out every element of a bargain. Let the President be elected by popular referendum. The issue of the President is not at all a topic of discussion.”

“If Rama will change and become a man of institutions, he must show that the courts, SPAK, etc., etc. must act to the electoral crime “, stressed Duma.

Asked whether the DP will recognize the elections and go to the Assembly, or the DP will not recognize the elections and will not go to the Assembly, Duma said, “We are in the stage of following all the legal ways even if it is a matter of 10 votes”.

Duma concluded by saying that, “After June 13, when the party chairman is elected, the party forums will convene and vote on the next strategy./p.s./
