TIRANA, June 30 /ATA/ The director of the Albanian Development Fund, Dritan Agolli, unveiled on Sunday the investment package which he described as Thethi of tomorrow, a quality elite tourist destination.

At the meeting with residents of this area, with the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, as well as the Shkodra mayor, Benet Beci, also in attendance, Agolli listed some of the projects that will be implemented for the development of this area.

“Starting from the investments that have been made in this area for several years to improve access, where the first phase included the construction of the Boga axis from Qafë Thorja to Theth and from Thethi to Ndrehysaj, we are opening the Dukagjini road that will create a ring road that will connect Shkodra from the direction of Koplik and the other direction”, he said.

Agolli emphasized that “Dukagjini Road is not only about improving access for the residents, but also about unlocking development potential for all these areas. This road will not only pass through Theth village, but will continue throughout the area, turning it into a tourist potential”, he added.

The head of ADF stated that the interventions are intended to reinforce the natural and urban elements.
“We are working with the municipality to design the project on sewers system and a wastewater treatment plant. Meanwhile, we are closing the project and starting the procedure for the first phase of electricity supply from Dedaj to Bogë and Razëm, converting the line into a 35 kV line. The second phase is the stable supply of electricity for the residents,” Agolli said.
According to him, these interventions, in tandem with the government’s big package for the mountains, will propel Thethi into a quality elite and tourist destination.
Thethi has a 2800-year history, the muse of foreign researchers since 1905, in 1966 it was designated a National Park and a historical center since 2017.
Thethi, which today hosts hundreds and thousands of tourists, will benefit a new project supported by the government and Shkodra Municipality at the initiative of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which will be discussed at an interdisciplinary round table to enable this balance between nature and the community.
The comprehensive strategy for Thethi by the Municipality of Shkodra includes investments in public spaces and public facilities as a baseline.
