The police mega-operation code-named “First Day” focused on individuals involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics, spread over different times and places, mainly near school premises, bars and beyond, in Elbasan, Librazhd, Gramsh, Cërrik, Peqin, Belsh and Përrenjas.

The prosecution documented the activity of these citizens involved in criminal activities in the field of sale and distribution of narcotics, who acted in an organized manner in small groups or individually throughout Elbasan region.

A press release of the police reads that two people were arrested in the act and 30 kg of Cannabis Sativa narcotic was seized at the customs of Montenegro.

“Following the in-depth investigations carried out in coordination with the Police of Montenegro and under the direction of the Shkodra Prosecutor’s Office, the police detained the citizen E. B., 55 years old for being involved in drug trafficking attempt”, said the Police.

The procedural materials were sent to the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of Shkodra General Jurisdiction for further action./p.s./

Director of the State Police Muhamet Rrumbullaku gave a briefing on the mega-operation with 1,541 proceedings and 23 criminal gangs hit.

According to the head of the State Police, during the mega-operation, 226 people were arrested and 23 criminal gangs were destroyed.

“The mega-operation coded “Temple” focused on the criminal phenomenon of the distribution of narcotics in the vicinity of schools, bars, restaurants or residential blocks. According to him, “The police seized as material evidence several firearms, 45,000 euros, 250,000 Lekë, 500 pounds, 50 francs, 2,000 lira, 25 mobile phones; 23 kg of cannabis sativa, found near the burned and sunk sailing ship, in a dinghy boat in the Adriatic Sea.

“This operation once again proved the determination and professionalism of the State Police to fight organized crime, as well as the professional, serious and safe partnership with counterparts and other law enforcement agencies inside and outside the country”, concluded Bizhga. /p.s./

Director of the Tirana Local Police Directorate Tonin Vocaj stated today that the police operation codenamed “Map” was finalized after a three-month investigation.

Vocaj said that the Narcotics Investigation specialists at the Tirana Local Police Directorate under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office provided legal evidence to document the criminal activity of two gangs consisting of 24 people.

“On the basis of the evidence, the police organized and finalized the operation for the arrest of the suspected persons,” said Vocaj.

During the operation, the police also seized 2 kilograms and 120 grams of cocaine, 300 doses of cannabis, 130 doses of heroin, an amount of money of about 5 million old lekë, 1700 euros, 11 vehicles and 29 mobile devices. /m.m/ /gj.m /p.s./

In context of this operation, SPAK issued 20 security measures, 13 imprisonments, 3 house arrest and 4 forced appearance.

According to the SPAK investigation, certain police structures have provided support to the criminal group to continue this activity.

In framework of the one-year investigation, it has managed to document the activity of several criminal groups involved in the cultivation of narcotic plants in mountainous areas between the municipalities of Puka and Mirdita, who have collaborated with each other to ensure the sale of narcotics and have got support to continue this activity from the police structures, who informed them about the controls that would be exercised in the area./j.p/r.e/p.s./
