TIRANA, August 20 /ATA/ Following news of Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) being automatically included in the driving license as a reflection of Code 95 in the same document, Prime Minister Edi Rama appreciated that this innovation avoids the need for a separate CPC card, simplifying procedures and reducing costs for citizens.

“This is another step towards the modernization and simplification of services. Certificate of Professional Competence is now part of the driving license as Code 95”, – said Rama.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services said that beginning from yesterday, August 19, 2025, the application of this important innovation has entered into force for all drivers who have a CPC.

“In accordance with the best European standards, the CPC will no longer be issued as a separate card, but will be automatically included in the driving license, being reflected as Code 95 in the same document,” a press release of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services read.

Also, this step complies with European Union standards, where Code 95 is reflected in the driving license, a practice followed in some European Union countries. /a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, January 1 /ATA/ The implementation of the “bonus-malus” system in automobile insurance enters into force today.

The Financial Supervisory Authority (AMF) has already determined the criteria for calculating the universal scheme of the “bonus-malus” system that will be implemented by all insurance companies that offer the domestic Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) product in categories B1 (cars) and B2 (vans, minibuses).

The bonus–malus system (BMS) is a system that adjusts the premium paid by a customer according to their individual claim history.

The Authority has also added the district where the vehicle is registered as a risk factor, considering districts such as Berat, Dibra or Kukës as low risk, while other districts will have a coefficient of “1”.

However, according to this regulation, risk factors can be increased depending on the assessment that each insurance company will make.

Referring to data published by the Financial Supervisory Authority, the implementation of the “bonus-malus” system has had effects in reducing the number of accidents, protecting the lives of citizens and guaranteeing a fairer price in Third-party liability insurance (TPL) insurance policies.

In the social aspect, the application of the “bonus-malus” system aims to raise public awareness for a more careful driving of the vehicle, but also to improve the quality of insurance service towards consumers.

From a technical point of view, the process is more transparent and the inclusion of mathematical formulas makes it a fair, reliable and merit-based mechanism.

The term “bonus–malus” (Latin for ‘good-bad’) is used for a number of business arrangements which alternately reward (bonus) or penalize (malus). It is used, for example especially in insurance industries.

TIRANA, July 21 /ATA/ Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla extended an appeal to all drivers today not to exceed the permitted speed limits.

Balla shared images of several flagrant cases of violations of traffic rules.

“The speed that goes 2 to 3 times more than the allowed level on the new roads of the country, and in the tunnel of Llogara, are a potential risk for involvement in road incidents”, stressed Balla.

“I appeal to all drivers to enjoy the country’s new roads, to enjoy the weekend, but to take care of their own lives and those of other road users by respecting the rules of the road,” underlined Balla. /r.e/p.s./
