The group made up of of Edith Harxhi, Bujar Nishani, Ibsen Elezi, Arben Imami, Indrit Hoxha, Bislim Ahmetaj, Edvin Kulluri and Arben Ristani, pointed out that in politics a leader takes responsibility for the failure regardless of the reasons.

Also, the grouping for DP demanded that all responsibilities be taken for the devastating defeat sustained in elections following the example of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha who stepped down as the party head after losing the election.

“The resignation of Lulzim Basha as the party head is not the doom of DP but the beginning of the latter getting back on its feet. Boycott of the territorial reform or local elections made room for the SP. Today the DP has no central and local government officials. The DP list turned out to be a fiasco enabling them to secure a constitutional majority. The May 5 agreement has irreversibly damaged the DP and its allies,” it was said at the press conference.

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Edith Harxhi said in her remarks that the DP must urgently return to its roots and look to the future.
