TIRANA Jan 31 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ DP MP, Ilda Dhori, stated on Monday that Albania is the country with the lowest salaries in Europe.

At a media briefing, Dhori said that the latest data published by the Statistics Office of the European Union show that Albania continues to remain the country with the lowest minimum wage in Europe.

“The Eurostat data, which confirms the stagnation of economy in our country, is the most meaningful illustration of the repercussions that corruption has, as the enemy of the well-being of Albanians, for which a few days ago, the report of the prestigious Transparency International, brought to attention another relapse for Albania. Corruption spread to every level of Edi Rama-run government is the reason why Albania has the lowest wages in Europe and the highest poverty rate in the region. Corruption that erodes day to day institutions, democracy, freedoms and rights, the free market, is the number one enemy of Albanian families, honest entrepreneurs, neglected pensioners, young people leaving Albania.

“As long as our country will be the first in Europe for the level of corruption, Albania will remain at a standstill and Albanians will continue to be the last in Europe for their level of welfare,” she said.

Dhori added that “for this reason, the Democratic Party considers the fight against corruption a national interest, a prerequisite to free the country and institutions from illegitimacy and dishonesty that is impoverishing Albanians.” /j.p/sm/
