TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected a newly built student dormitory in the northeast Albania region of Dibra on Saturday, highlighting ongoing government efforts to modernize educational infrastructure and improve living conditions for students.

The facility, part of the “Nazmi Rushiti” vocational high school, has a capacity of 120 students and offers modern accommodation standards, supporting the development of vocational education in the area.

Deputy Economy and Innovation Minister Olta Manjani said the dormitory ensures balanced gender representation and upgraded living conditions, while also pointing to broader initiatives aimed at youth employment and innovation.

She noted the establishment of a new youth centre in Dibra, following similar projects in northern regions, designed to provide online training and remote employment opportunities. The centre is part of the “Digital Roots” initiative supported by the Startup Albania Agency, which connects young people with global digital job markets and promotes entrepreneurship.

During the visit, Rama toured the dormitory’s facilities, including accommodation units, kitchen areas and service spaces, describing the investment as part of wider efforts to meet European standards in education and student welfare.

The “Nazmi Rushiti” vocational school offers programmes in business, information technology, hospitality and tourism, and geology, and cooperates with dozens of businesses, enabling most students to undertake practical training placements.

The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of continued investment in vocational education infrastructure across the country.
