Addressing Straife conference “New Trends in the European Union,” an event that brought together industry executives and international experts, Tirana Mayor underlined that doing business in Tirana and Albania is really easy nowadays.

“Today doing business is much easier, because a much more positive business climate prevails. From a country that once generated conflicts, Albania today is the largest generator of stability in the region. And this stability is great for doing business, for tourism and for the security of those who visit us and operate in the hospitality industry,” Veliaj said.

According to him, Tirana generates around 25 to 30 million euros in revenue on daily basis.

He added that the country and the Albanian capital are expected to experience a boom of tourism this year.

“The city’s success is translated into a major contribution to the country’s economy,” he added.

The conference “New Trends in the European Union: Challenges and Actions for Public Policies and Companies of Albania and the Western Balkans” discussed on impact of public  policies and actions on Albania as a EU candidate country and their effects on business development in the Western Balkan countries.
