TIRANA, Aug 5 /ATA/ – As many as 100 newly graduated doctors were recently employed in the regional and municipal hospitals across the country, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Friday.

The Premier also said that five newly graduated junior doctors joined the medical staff of the regional hospital in Vlora, southern Albania, to provide quality and specialized care service for local residents in the coastal city.

The government head, sharing a video showing the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu’s visit to the Vlora regional hospital, said that “some people often comment over the alleged shortage of physicians and nurses, but this is a wound from the past, since when those claiming Albania is endangered actually let the relentless denigration of the health system by terminating the doctors’ specialization degree programme for four consecutive years, creating an incredible shortage. A growing number of newly graduated doctors have recently joined the regional and municipal hospitals across the country.”
