The appeal comes ahead of the upcoming tourist season as the Ministry of Health and Social Protection plans to open a significant number of summer healthcare centers at the beach resorts and tourist destinations across the country’s south and north.

Health Minister Koçiu called on health professionals to join the medical teams and provide their precious contribution for a safe and healthy tourist season.

“From the country’s coast to mountainous areas, the summer healthcare centers need committed professionals,” Koçiu wrote in a post on the social media.

As many as 34 summer healthcare centers became operational and provided 24/7 care service to visitors and holidaymakers visiting the country’s most-sought destinations during tourist season last year.

As many as 80 765 medical check-ups were conducted during the period between June 1 and September 30, 2024, with 32% of the patients being foreign nationals.
