Minister of Tourism and Culture Mirela Kumbaro shared today views of this historic village with rich cultural heritage.

“Good morning from Dhërmi, which has not only the sea and the beach. But, there is even the historical village that we restored 3 years ago and brought to light as a historical center, is worth visiting and discovered in winter and summer”, emphasized Kumbaro.

Dhërmi is located at the end of a beach more than five kilometers long, a beach which ends on a hill, on which rises the monastery of St. Theodore.

The village consists of three neighborhoods: Kondraqa, or Kallami which is the first neighborhood for those who come from Llogora; followed by Gjileku and Dhërmiu – the third and largest neighborhood that has given the village its name.

In total, the whole village consists of about 600 houses, of which about 300 are in Dhërmi, 150 in Gjilek and 150 in Kondraq. Dhërmi village is located 52 km south of Vlora, 72 km north of Saranda and about 210 km from the capital Tirana.

From the administrative viewpoint, Dhërmi is part of the municipality of Himara, Vlora district. /k.s//a.a/p.s./
