TIRANA, July 30 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Welfare Evis Sala announced two key government decisions today focused on health care and prevention.

“These decisions bring two key changes, including one for prevention—a vital need for all Albanians. For the first time, the age limit for the check-up service is gone. Now, every citizen aged 35 and older can get a free check-up”, stated Sala.

“For the first time, elderly people over 70 will be offered a free check-up beginning from September”, said the minister.

Sala said after the government meeting today that the state will take over check-up and dialysis services when their current private contracts end in September and November.

“These decisions directly affect citizens, both in the field of treatment and prevention,” the minister concluded. /e.i/a.f/p.s./
