In her remarks, Dhuli introduced the committee to the objectives, expected results and statistical activities proposed to be carried out throughout the year 2024 by: INSTAT, the Bank of Albania, the Ministry of Finance and the National Agency of Natural Resources, according to their areas of responsibility.

Dhuli clarified that the novelty of 2024 was the fact that the list of statistical agencies for 2024 included even the AKBN which will be responsible for producing official statistics for the country’s energy balance.

“The expansion of the national statistical system is the final action that concludes the improvement activities in line of the EUROSTAT recommendations reflected in the quality assessment report of 2018 and is based on the annual plans applied by the EU member states,” she said.

MP Milva Ekonomi, in the capacity of the rapporteur, praised the work of INSTAT for the production of official statistics in the country, results recognized by the EU, as well as focused on the two main activities that are expected in 2024: the publication of the results of the national Census of Population and Housing and the National Census of Agriculture. After questions and discussions, the committee approved the 2024 Annual Plan for the implementation of the Official Statistics Program 2022-2026.
