Access to energy is an important pillar for the well-being of the people as well as for economic development and poverty alleviation.

The United Nations Development Programme in Albania said Tuesday that during October it will focus on delivering on SDG 7, on Affordable and Clean Energy.

As the winter approaches the cold begins to intensify in the northern areas of Albania, UNDP Albania through a financing from the Government of Japan, is installing solar panels across ten public buildings in four municipalities.

The kindergartens “Ngjyrat” and “Bep Tusha” are concrete examples reaping benefits from the solar energy. This project is designed to create new guarantees for unlimited energy supply and cost reduction, which will support the municipalities.

This work is being implemented in the spirit of combating climate change and achieving #SDG7 and its targets in Albania.
