Meta had appealed a previous ruling that ordered his arrest, seeking release from pre-trial detention. The decision was confirmed by a single-judge panel led by Judge Igerta Hysi.

Meta’s legal team is now expected to file an appeal with the Supreme Court within the 45-day deadline that begins the day after the decision is formally announced.

The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution Structure (SPAK) has completed its investigation and submitted Meta’s case to the Special First Instance Court.

According to prosecutors, Meta is charged with three counts of passive corruption involving high-level officials, two of which were allegedly committed in collaboration with others; money laundering in cooperation with others; and failure to declare, false declaration, or concealment of assets and private interests, in violation of Albania’s public disclosure laws.
