The head of the Deposit Insurance Agency, Genc Mamani, presented the report for the year 2023 at the plenary session of the Assembly.
He emphasized that, at the end of 2023, the value of insurable deposits that benefit from the deposit insurance scheme reached ALL 1,511.2 billion, accounting for 94% of the total deposits. Meanwhile, the total deposits in the deposit insurance scheme reached 10.9 billion ALL, from 10.3 billion ALL in 2022, with an annual increase of 6.2%.
“Deposit insurance funds in banks and savings and credit companies have recorded a steady growth during 2023. The main incomes that contribute to the increase of these funds are those from insurance premiums and from the administration of financial assets. On December 31, 2023, the accounting value of the bank deposit insurance fund is ALL 63.55 billion. Compared to a year ago, this fund has increased by about 5.6 billion ALL or 9.68%,” said Mamani.
The head of DIA pointed out that, throughout 2023, the Agency has concentrated its efforts on implementing the recommendations of the resolution of the Assembly of Albania “On the evaluation of the activity of the Deposit Insurance Agency for the year 2022.”

During the year 2023, DIS has secured deposits placed by depositors in 11 banks and 9 credit savings companies.
