TIRANA, August 17/ATA/ One in three vehicles didn’t pass the technical inspection due to defects in the braking, steering, exhaust systems, etc.

General Directorate of the Road Transport Service reported that during the first 7 months of the current year, there were presented 205,355 vehicles for testing on the technical control, of which 61,993 or 30.2% of the total number of vehicles did not pass.

The General Directorate of Road Transport Service said that vehicles that are dangerous to the lives of all road users can no longer pass the technical control test.

“1 in 3 vehicles do not pass the technical control test. The reasons for this situation are unfortunately also related to the bitter past of the service, when proper control was absent and it gave courage to irresponsibility. But, times have changed and such situations will never be tolerated again”, said the Directorate.

It also extended an appeal to the drivers to repair their vehicles within the legal deadlines and check the vehicle before every trip. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, July 29 /ATA/ The US State Department issued today a statement on 100 years of US-Albania relations.

“The United States and Albania commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Albania relations in 2022. Despite interruptions to those relations over the past century, our two countries forged strong bonds, overcame conflict and hardship, and emerged as close allies and friends. With this history in mind, we look toward the future and all that we can accomplish together over the next century. Our two nations are rooted in a shared commitment to democratic values, peace, and economic prosperity, which are the foundation of this enduring partnership. The themes of the 100th anniversary reflect these priorities: Friendship, Democracy, Defense, and Business”, reads the statement.
