TIRANA, October 2 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Diella, is helping Albania on its path towards accession into the EU, for the transposition of the EU legislation into our legislation.

Speaking to reporters in Copenhagen, Denmark, upon his arrival at the Joint Summit of the European Political Community, Rama also spoke about the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Diella.

“This is something new and like any innovation it has to face criticism, which is a good thing. But, we have evidence so far that it works excellently. It started as a virtual assistant for public services for citizens and has interacted with nearly a million people. So for, Diella has had a million interactions and services and has prepared 36 thousand documents so far with the digital seal, with which no one has had problems and there have been no objections”, said Rama.

Secondly, the head of government continued, “We are working on the transposition of EU legislation into our legislation, within the framework of Albania’s accession negotiations with the EU”.

Further on, PM Rama also added that Minister Diella “is making progress in working with public tenders, which is still work in progress. Criticism is good, but she (Diella) is better”. /gj.m/ /a.jor/p.s./

TIRANA, July 23 /ATA/ – Albania’s Council of Ministers has approved an agreement with the Kingdom of Denmark to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion.

The agreement, endorsed at a regular cabinet meeting on Wednesday, aims to foster stronger economic cooperation between the two countries while ensuring a fairer and more secure tax environment for individuals and businesses operating in both jurisdictions.

Once in force, the deal will help avoid the double taxation of income – a barrier that often discourages investment and imposes unnecessary burdens on taxpayers.

It also establishes mechanisms for information exchange and cooperation between tax authorities to combat tax evasion and enhance financial transparency.

Kumbaro was invited to attend the ministerial by Denmark’s Climate Minister Dan Jorgensen.

The ministerial was organized by Denmark and the United Arab Emirates, which hosted COP28 last year, and Azerbaijan, which hosted COP29 last November.

The ministerial is focused on the joint engagement of the countries with the purpose of turning policies into concrete decisions for the climate.

“Albania does not pollute, but suffers the consequences of climate change all the same, as it sits equally at the high-level discussion tables with its small, but meaningful model of biodiversity protection and clean energy production,” Kumbaro wrote in a post in the social media.

For the third consecutive year, the Ministry of Climate in Copenhagen has gathered around 40 climate leaders and ministers from around the world to accelerate climate action and defend the ambitious outcomes at COP29. This ministerial aims to set a clear trajectory for COP29, scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in November 2024. /k.s/r.e/p.s./

TIRANA, Oct.29/ATA/ Denmark fully supports the adoption of Albania’s negotiating framework, believing that EU enlargement to the Western Balkans is the right economic and geostrategic choice of the European Union.

This message of support for Albania’s EU integration was conveyed during the meetings of the Chief Negotiator for Albania’s Accession to EU, Ambassador Zef Mazi, held yesterday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Mazi held several meetings with the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Danish Parliament and chairman of the Nordic Council, Bertel Haardel, the Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and EU Enlargement, Henrik Møller, the member of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and EU Enlargement, Christoffer Aagaard Melson, as well as the Deputy Secretary General of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Gustavo Pallares.

The Danish side stressed that, the EU must find the strength and political will to take the decision on the technical opening of negotiations and the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference as soon as possible.

According to the Danish side, Albania should move forward with the work in the light of the reform processes.

During the three meetings, Chief Negotiator Mazi presented a broad and detailed overview of Albania’s progress on the path of reforms in a wide range of fields.

Mazi highlighted progress in justice reform, including the vetting process, the fight against corruption, organized crime, immigration, money laundering and other areas, and asked the hosts for recognition of the progress made so far on Albania’s path towards the EU. //a.i/
