According to the Bank of Albania, the expenses for deposit interest were worth ALL 1.76 billion, marking a reduction of 14% compared to the same period of the previous year.

At the end of March, the average interest rate on deposits and household accounts in Albanian lek and in Euro accounted for 0.2% and 0.03%, respectively.

The Bank of Albania said that, the decrease in interest expenses is reflected in the structure of bank deposits oriented towards demand deposit accounts.

At the end of March, demand deposit accounts accounted for over 60% of deposits, up from 55% a year earlier. //a.i/
