TIRANA, April 9 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ / Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected on Friday the works in Delvina water supply system, which will provide 24 hour water supply after 100 years.

Rama said that the water supply situation was a long standing nightmare that is definitely tackled here and in many other areas.

“Now 24 hour water supply is a reality. There are about 120 construction sites that are either towards completion or in process and within 2022 there will be 24 hour water supply for all urban areas and all villages with residential intensity. Of course there will be problems in other locations, but the overwhelming number of population, especially in the municipalities of the country will access running water supply and this issue will no longer be a topic of debates and election campaigns,” said Rama.
Meanwhile, the MP of the constituency, Damian Gjiknuri, said that “Delvina has grappled with two issues 4 years ago, water and road. Water supply has been tackled and the road is towards completion.”

Delvina’s water supply system has suffered from underinvestment for 50 years, while as part of this investment, a 900 m3 warehouse has been built to supply the population 24 hours a day. The project covers 80% of the municipality or about 10 thousand inhabitants of the town of Delvina.
