TIRANA, January 17/ATA/ Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated today that Turkey will continue to stand by Albania, supporting it in every challenge.

During his visit in Kurbin, in the neighborhood rebuilt under his special care after the earthquake, Erdogan said that, “Being a country that has experienced similar pain many times before, the earthquakes that occurred in Albania hurt our hearts, the same like the hearts of the Albanian people “.

“I am happy to be here, with you and I have become part of these emotions and your enthusiasm. The joy of Albania is our joy and the sorrow of Albania is our sorrow. So, we consider your well-being and peace, the same as ours,” Erdogan said.

The Turkish president stressed that immediately after the earthquake, he was personally engaged to be with the Albanian people.

As my friend Rama pointed out: The brother stays with his brother when he is in need and not when he is called. The fact that Turkey was one of the first countries to come to Albania’s aid is a clear evidence of this strong solidarity between us.”

To alleviate the pain and burden of those families affected by the earthquake, Erdogan said a memorandum of understanding was signed with PM Rama through which Turkey pledged to rebuild the dilapidated homes from scratch.

“In July 2020, as soon as we signed the memorandum, we started the construction and opened the construction site, even though the pandemic had broken out. 13 months ago we inaugurated laying the foundations of the flats. And today, we are handing over 522 apartments with a value of approximately 42 million Euros. Enjoy these apartments,” Erdogan said.

Erdogan expressed his commitment to further friendship with Albania.

The Turkish President also drew attention to the fact that Turkey was one of the countries close to Albania even in the pandemic situation.

Another moment that shows the friendship between the two countries, according to Turkish President Erdogan, was the regional hospital of Fier./j.p/p.s./
