The month-long program includes choral concerts that mark the festive season, performances by the Folk Ensemble, and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, one of the theatre’s most popular year-end productions.

This year, The Nutcracker will be accompanied by a special talk exploring the ballet’s lesser-known history.

On 5 December, the choral group “Zanat” will perform, followed by a “Celebrate Together” concert held during the lighting of the theatre’s Christmas tree.

A choral concert will also take place on 6 December at the Tirana Amphitheatre.

Il Trovatore will be staged on 11, 12 and 13 December. The Folk Ensemble’s production “Dance Without Borders,” organised with the Diaspora Agency, will run from 15 to 18 December.

On 19 December, the theatre will present the concert “Women in the Opera of Love,” while 20 December is dedicated to the White Voices Choir with the children’s performance “Christmas at the Opera.”

The Nutcracker will be performed for six nights on 23, 24, 26, 27, 29 and 30 December. General rehearsals will be open to children and families.

In a social media post, TKOBAP said each day of December “opens like a new chapter of a fairytale that brings us all together on one stage.”
