TIRANA, March  31 /ATA/ Public debt decreased to 64.6% at the end of 2022, from 74% at the end of 2021.

Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced that despite the higher level of expenses the public debt has reduced significantly.

“There was a significant reduction in public debt during 2022, although the level of spending was higher. For the year 2023, the public debt is projected to be 68.8%, but this figure will be revised based on the latest data of the Gross Domestic Product,” Ibrahimaj told the press conference on developments in the economy.
