The government head noted that he revealed the personal ID card data at an electoral campaign in Elbasan earlier today.

“I made my personal ID card number public to convey the message that this whole story is being deliberately amplified, but it should not worry anyone, because the number of ID cards is not like the ones in developed countries that can reveal sensitive data and information on individuals. It is just an identification number. In other countries, the personal ID card number can be exploited to gain access to bank accounts, health conditions, taxes, fines and everything else,” he said.

The Premier said that the volunteers involved in the system of patronage are not using the ID cards of the citizens. “Our database is not based on the ID cards data. What has been made public is actually a mixture of information we have had and the updated information. The reason why they have exposed this information is that because they are not abiding by the prosecutor’s request to submit the database,” he added.
