The well-known artist was one of the best Albanian dancers, honored with several titles for her artistic career, such as “Honor of the Nation” and “Great Master”.

Director of the Opera and Ballet Theatre Abigeila Voshtina broke the news.

“Sad for the death of the queen of Albanian dance, Lili Cingu. For years, she was the image of the Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances, giving life to more than 200 dances that she performed. Lili Cingu belongs to that constellation of artists, who took the Albanian dance to the biggest stages of the world, showing another Albania, with rich culture and folklore”, wrote Voshtina in the social media.

“The Ensemble rehearsal hall will miss her easy step and her sweet voice. But, this escape is only physical, because her name will live together with the Ensemble and wherever the Albanian dance is performed, there will be the memory of Lili Cingu with the public that loved and praised her so much”, she wrote.

Lili, as they called the well-known Liljana Cingu, was one of the Albanian dancers who created a typical personality of hers not only on stage, but also outside it.

Her age, gracefully hidden behind the elegant clothes, show a woman who survived the times thanks to her passion for beautiful Albanian dances.
