Vata/ Japanese experts have closely followed the nesting of the curly pelican in the National Park, Divjaka-Karavasta.

The National Agency for Protected Areas (AKZM) has published a photo gallery showing the nesting of Dalmatian pelican colony in this Park.

“Some photos from the regular monitoring in the pelican colony, which has started nesting. During this monitoring with the participation of Japanese experts on Ecotourism, we also replaced some damaged buoys,” the posting of AKZM says.

Environmental specialists in this area have noted that many migratory birds have returned home. One of the rare birds is the Curly Pelican, one of the few species in Europe that has so far used the Divjaka-Karavasta lagoon as its last sanctuary.
