According to the media reports, Dako left the premises of Durrës prison early this morning.

Dako was sentenced with 2 years and 8 months for abuse of office. Following the detention period and the time he spent in house arrest, he spent the remaining 10 days of his sentence in prison.

Dako was convicted of “abuse of office” on 2 cases. One case involved the construction of an 11-story building in 2011, which, according to SPAK, was beyond all criteria, technical conditions and illegal, which made the building dangerous to inhabit. The second case involved a tender for the construction of a promenade in 2014-2015, which caused a damage of 18 million lekë to the state budget. /m.q/j.p/p.s./

The Court argued that the detention period on Dako, accused of “Abuse of Office”, in two cases, has finished.

Dako was arrested on June 6 by order of the Special Prosecutor’s Office under suspicions that he abused his office in two cases. The first charge of abuse is raised on suspicion on granting permission for the construction of a building in Durrës in violation of the law. And the other charge is raised on the tender for the coastal development project, which increased 10-fold in value.

In total, together with Dako, there were extended 10 arrest warrants, 7 of which with prison arrest and 3 under house arrest./p.s./
