The decision, proposed by the Prime Minister, supports the implementation of the Law on Cybersecurity, replacing the previous 2020–2025 National Cybersecurity Strategy and its action plan.

According to the government announcement, the National Authority for Cybersecurity, together with relevant ministries and other institutions defined in the strategy and action plan, will be tasked with implementing the decision.

The new cyber defense plan aims to boost cooperation between state bodies, private firms and international partners. The document outlines Albania’s commitment to strengthening national capacities to identify, prevent and manage cyber threats. It aims to protect critical and important information infrastructures, safeguard sensitive data and ensure the continuity of digital services.

It also seeks to enhance the technical and professional capabilities needed to address ongoing cybersecurity challenges, while promoting international cooperation to improve response and resilience against cyber incidents.

The strategy establishes a framework to boost the preparedness and resilience of information systems and services, ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices.
