TIRANA, May 15 /ATA/ Albania is now officially a member of NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), the Alliance’s centre of excellence for cyber defence, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia.

Albania’s membership was formalized during a flag-raising ceremony at the CCDCOE headquarters, where the country joined the Centre alongside Finland and Sweden, bringing the total number of member and partner nations in this international network of cyber defence expertise to 39.

This development represents an important step for Albania in strengthening its national capacities in the field of cyber security and defence, as well as in deepening cooperation with NATO allies and international partners in addressing threats and challenges in the cyber domain.

Albania’s participation in the CCDCOE provides opportunities for the exchange of expertise, involvement in research and strategic analysis, participation in international training and exercises, as well as closer cooperation with experts and specialized institutions from allied and partner countries.

Founded in 2008 and accredited by NATO, the CCDCOE is one of the most important international centres in the field of cyber defence, focusing on scientific research, strategic analysis, professional training, and the development of best practices to strengthen cyber resilience. The Centre also organizes Locked Shields, the world’s largest and most complex cyber defence exercise.

This membership further strengthens Albania’s position within the international cyber security ecosystem and enhances cooperation with NATO’s leading structures and experts in this field.
