The BoA notes that, during the second half of 2021, foreign currency loans to total loans increased over 50%, while the share of foreign currency deposits increased to 51.8%.

In result, the Bank of Albania considers that it is time for the authorities to discuss the identification of further measures to reduce the levels of foreign exchange use, gradually, not only in the financial system, but especially in the real sector of the economy, as a factor in sustainable development.
