Rama shares images of Myzeqe fields

TIRANA, June 25 /ATA/ Investments to rehabilitate the irrigation and drainage system have revitalized entire areas of agricultural land, while government support schemes have encouraged farmers to expand the cultivated land.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared through social networks images of the fields of Myzeqe, where every year more and more areas are planted with wheat and other agricultural crops.

“Good morning and with the embroidered fields of Myzeqe, I wish you all a pleasant weekend ahead,” writes Rama.

Thanks to the relentless work in all these years for the rehabilitation of the drainage and irrigation system, in the area of Myzeqe there are more irrigation ditches, more lands that have access to irrigation system and more quality agricultural products.

Other than investments in agriculture, the tax-free oil scheme is one of the most welcome measures for farmers, as it gives them the opportunity to reduce production costs and increase the use of mechanization, especially in this time of crisis fueled by rising prices of imported commodities.
About 3,600 farmers have applied for the free oil support scheme for agriculture. /m.m/sm/

TIRANA, May 22/ATA/- The area of cultivated land in recent years has doubled given that 2013 saw about 125 thousand ha of cultivated land, while now there are 250 thousand ha of cultivated land.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has published images of cultivated agricultural lands that can be seen with the naked eye along the Levan – Tepelena road.

“GOOD MORNING, and with these views of neatly cultivated lands that you can see with the naked eye along the Levan – Tepelena road, I wish you a peaceful Sunday ahead,” said Rama.

For beneficiary farmers of the tax-free oil scheme, the Social Resilience Package includes a support up to ALL 1.4 billion or USD 14 million, with a supplementary fund of USD 5 million.

This year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, allocated for the second year in a row, funds for oil subsidies, as a necessary measure to support the agricultural sector. Currently, the oil subsidy scheme defines as beneficiaries of tax-free oil the farmers of agricultural crops, such as: wheat, corn, beans, sunflower, oats, rye, aromatic-medicinal herbs, etc.
