Vata/ DP has filed a complaint to Complaints and Sanctions Commission close to CEC against the decision of Central Election Commission Ilirjan Celibashi, on continuum of the term of Mallakastra Mayor, Qerim Ismail Ismailaj.

The CEC announced on Tuesday that the DP has submitted the request no. 58 on this issue.
CSC designated by lot the member of CSC Koli Bela as rapporteur of this case.

At the July 2 session, the State Election Commissioner, Ilirja Celibashi, stated that Qerim Ismail Ismailaj, mayor of Mallakastra, Fier region, is not included under the prohibitory clause set out in the decriminalization law because, according to him, the offense for which he was convicted in Greece, corresponds to the criminal offense of “Other Intentional Injuries” provided by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania, which stipulates a penalty.

Following the verifications regarding Qerim Ismail Ismailaj, the General Prosecution informed that he was convicted by final court decision for committing a criminal offense in Greece.
