TIRANA, November 19/ATA/ One of the most recognizable symbols of Croatian identity, the cravat, i.e. the necktie, was presented to Tirana today through a unique exhibition that recounts its history, origin and evolution over the centuries.

The exhibition opened at the “Sotir Kolea” Center and after its inauguration, the Kravat Regiment from Zagreb marched through some of the main streets of Tirana, dressed in historical ceremonial uniforms and accompanied by the solemn rhythms of drums. This march brought a festive and traditional atmosphere that unites Croatian culture, elegance and pride.

The Cravat Regiment is a guard of honor based in Zagreb, Croatia. Beginning in 2010, the regiment has regularly performed a march in the Upper Town of Zagreb which culminates in a changing of the guard at St Mark’s Square.

The activity is part of the program of the Croatian Cultural Week, whose activities started on November 17 and will continue throughout the next day (November 17-20). /a.f/p.s./
