PRISHTINA, Aug. 5 /ATA/ – Kosovo acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on Wednesday that no agreement had been reached with the opposition Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) following a second round of talks aimed at breaking the country’s political deadlock.

“We have no news because we have no agreement. When we have an agreement, we will speak,” Kurti told reporters after meeting LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku in Prishtina.

The talks, which followed an initial meeting on Tuesday, ended without a breakthrough despite discussions on current political developments and possible cooperation.

Kurti has sought dialogue with opposition parties to secure broader political support, but the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and other opposition groups have rejected his invitations for talks.

Kosovo’s newly elected parliament is due to convene on Thursday. While Kurti is expected to have sufficient support to constitute parliament and form a government, uncertainty remains over whether a broader agreement can be reached ahead of a future presidential vote, which requires the participation of at least 80 lawmakers in the 120-seat assembly.
