TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ The Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha informed the media on Saturday about his visit to Brussels.

In a press conference, Berisha stated that in Brussels he exposed the electoral farce in all its dimensions.

“Never in the past 34 years has Brussels been more aligned with the Albanian people than during those two days last week,” said Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha in a press statement. He described Tuesday and Wednesday as crucial moments when, at the heart of European democracy, vital interests of the Albanian people and their right to a free vote were defended.

“Brussels became the stage for presenting the case against Edi Rama, his electoral farce, and the fraudulent mandates,” Berisha added.

Berisha emphasized that during his visit to Brussels, he defended the fundamental interests of free voting, the dignity of the Albanian people, and of Albania.

“These were days that gave new momentum to hope and belief that Albanians, like other nations, will be able to vote freely,” he said.

Berisha added that in Brussels it was underlined that crime in Albania, closely tied to politics, obstructs political rotation and prevents a change of power.

Berisha also expressed his deep appreciation to the European People’s Party (EPP) and its leadership, stating that “through the voice of its Secretary General, the EPP publicly condemned the electoral farce in Albania, calling it a disgraceful act.”

Berisha assured that “these are only the first steps, and this farce will never be justified, never be recognized.”
