The citizens expressed their views to ATA about relaxation of measures, opening up of economy, tourism and return to normality.

“The decline in infection numbers must be associated with relaxation of restrictions to kick-start the economy. Yet the pandemic is not over, the epidemiological situation has significantly improved but we must exercise caution because there are countries fighting with new strains of the virus. Regarding the mask, I wear it indoors although I am vaccinated. Mask wearing has become part of our daily practices out of fear,” one citizen tells ATA.

“I fully agree with relaxation of measures, yet we should not let the guard down and maintain the distance. I try to avoid the enclosed areas and bars, I prefer to stay outdoors. We need to relieve our stress levels because we have isolated for almost one year and a half, so the restrictions are eased to the benefit of economy. We hope that businesses on the brink of bankruptcy will bounce back,” another one says.

“Relaxation of restrictions is a good news thanks to the efforts of Edi Rama who cares a lot about this people. This decision comes at the right time. We are better off and so far so good. Business, agriculture will get back on their feet,” another one says.

“I do not believe it is necessary to keep masks now, so it the right decision. People can go mask-free now. We are in good spirits after this decision. The economy should open up incrementally. The economy needs this boost more than anything else, but even people should not stay isolated any more. This reduces stress and people need to get closer again to re-establish that sort of relationship we had before the pandemic with each other,” one girl said.

Starting today, June 1, the curfew by decision of the Technical Committee of Experts will be from 23:00hrs to 06:00hrs throughout the country. Beyond the curfew, the citizens need to be provided with a permit from e-Albania or to have a document proving that he/she is an employee in one of the essential services.
