TIRANA, May 21 /ATA/ The Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has dismissed the request of the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltez, for the revocation of the ‘house arrest’ measure imposed on them in the case of the privatization of the former sports club “Partizani.”

In today’s session, SPAK prosecutors claimed that Berisha violated the security measure of “house arrest” by letting in his apartment and communicating with the former MEP Elmar Brok and the Italian journalists of RAI.
Meanwhile, Berisha’s defense lawyer Genc Gjokutaj said after the session that this decision is aberrant, since the security measure against Berisha does not affect his activity.
“Berisha has been under house arrest since December 30. This is a slip of SPAK and the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime. The house arrest does not affect the activity of the opposition leader,” said Gjokutaj.

Likewise, SCOC did not accept the request for recusal of judge Irena Gjoka.
