The operation led to the arrest of 12 people and the seizure of counterfeit goods worth 2.6m Euros and half a million Euros in cash.

EUROPOL reported that, “The operation was held from May 1, 2021 to 14 November 2021 and  led to the arrest of 12 suspects, the seizure of counterfeit goods worth 2.6 million Euros and cash in value 460 468 Euros. The joint international operation involved 30 countries and was supported by the Europol Coordinated Intellectual Property Crime Coalition (IPC3), Eurojust and INTERPOL.

“IPC3 is co-financed by EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) to fight intellectual property crime. The operation specifically targeted websites that offer counterfeit goods and are involved in internet piracy,” EUROPOL said.

Operation “In Our Sites” is a continuation of a repeated global joint operation which began in 2014 and has had increasing participation every year./j.p/r.e/p.s./
