TIRANA, April 15 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a televised interview, underlined the need of fighting corruption at all levels.”

In a televised interview, Prime Minister Rama was asked about the officials investigated by SPAK for corruption.
“This is a 10-year process and as far as these people are concerned, I don’t prefer to mention them at all because they are in trouble, but also because they are done with me, politics and the public either. Second, most or not all, when they started having problems with justice, they had found themselves removed from the government,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized that when it comes to the government, he is always on guard and has continuously changed the government.

“I have sent my messages across to everyone. I have given clear messages through the cabinet reshuffle and other actions that have not always come due to concerns of this nature and on the other hand we have pushed ahead with reforms and restructuring, meanwhile the figures speak for themselves. Only the number of services that have gone online today shows how much the level of corruption has dropped in the direct citizen-state relationship. Second, suffice it to look at the number of public procurements, if you look at the allocation of public funds with public procurements again there is a much greater distribution in many more hands of public funds which shows that there is much more transparency, much more competition etc. etc. All these processes along the way are part of state building, if they were simple, if they would have been finalized way earlier in time,” he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that “the fight against corruption must continue at all levels.
