The Financial watchdog said in a press release that the first issuance of a public offering provides a new financial instrument to Albania’s capital market, leading to a wider range of financial instruments and is a positive signal for this market’s further development.

Only the government securities have been traded on the exchange until now.

The Albanian Securities Exchange (ALSE) was licensed in July 2017 as the first private securities exchange in the country.

Issuing the securities in an open public offering provides the Albanian investors new investment opportunities to diversify their portfolio.
